Introduction of Minister Stockwell Day by BC Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, Shirley Bond.

Government of Canada, Minister of International Trade, Asia Pacific Gateway and Senior Minister Responsible for British Columbia, Stockwell Day, provided a video message on the progress being made on Canada’s international air policy objectives, including Canada’s Blue Sky Policy.

Introduction of Barry Rempel and George Petsikas by BC Minister of Small Business, Technology and Economic Development, Iain Black.

Mr. Barry Rempel, Chairman, Canadian Airports Council, shared the views of the airport community on Canada’s bilateral air service agreements.

Introduction of Andrew Steinberg by BC Minister of State for Intergovernmental Relations, Naomi Yamamoto.

Mr. Andrew Steinberg, former Assistant Secretary for Aviation and International Affairs with the US Department of Transportation, outlined the approach that the United States takes in negotiating bilateral air service agreements, describing what was involved in instituting an Open Skies negotiating focus, and sharing lessons learned.
